Two refurbished three-car Class 101s arrive into Glasgow Central, the blind is probably set for the next turn to Girvan. Undated, set 173 with SC51456 leading was released from Glasgow Works in May 1978 so this is probably in the summer of that year. Stuart Mackay Collection.

This 'intermediate' car (the now preserved 51017) still has it's gangway fitted, and carries a cover once commonly used on the back of hauled stock. The Class 126s generally always ran latterly with the buckeyes permanently raised. Malcolm Clements.
